Teresa McNally is the Chief Executive Officer of Irish HomeCare, one of Ireland’s leading national providers of homecare services. A Registered General Nurse with over 20 years of experience across acute, residential, and community care settings in Ireland and the UK, Teresa brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and strategic leadership to her role.
Since joining Irish HomeCare in 2019 as Head of Quality and Clinical Governance, Teresa has been a driving force behind the organisation’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and person-centred care. Appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2023 and subsequently CEO, she has led the company through a period of transformation, focused on enhancing service delivery, strengthening governance, and preparing the workforce to meet the evolving needs of health and social care in local communities.
Teresa is a passionate advocate for the homecare workforce, believing that people are the heart of our health services. Her leadership is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a deep commitment to continuous improvement. She champions initiatives that elevate professional standards, support staff development, and ensure that homecare remains a vital and respected pillar of the healthcare system.
In addition to her executive role, Teresa serves on the Board of Home and Community Care Ireland (HCCI) and the Board of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), contributing to the advancement of nursing leadership, research and education.
Internationally, Teresa is a member of the World Health Organisation Advisory Group on Integrating the Health and Care Workforce — a global platform focused on shaping future workforce integration across health systems.
Her professional affiliations include the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and the Institute of Directors (IoD), reflecting her broad network and commitment to leadership excellence across both public and private sectors.
