Alison Cowzer

Co-founder of East Coast Bakehouse

Alison is co-founder of East Coast Bakehouse, Ireland’s only large scale biscuit manufacturing business based in Drogheda Co Louth.

As a Dragon investor in the RTE series Dragons’ Den, Alison has invested in a number of new Irish businesses, and is working closely with these entrepreneurs to drive growth in their new enterprises.

Alison is also Managing Director of ‘The Company of Food’, a specialist food investment business which has invested in and mentored a number of food start ups. She is currently a member of the Bord Bia Consumer Foods Board

In her earlier career she had roles in marketing and general management at the Jacob Fruitfield Food Group, (before selling it to the Valeo Food Group in 2011). She has held marketing and general management positions in Fruitfield Foods, L’Oreal UK and Tedcastles Oil.

She has a keen interest in working to improve the representation of women in public life and is Chairperson of Women for Election, Vice-Chair of the international humanitarian agency GOAL, a Board member of the Ronald Mc Donald House Charity and Chairperson of Rough Magic Theatre Co.

Alison also hosts a business podcast series on the online business publisher “The Currency”
