About the Public Sector Women in Leadership 2025

WOMEN LEADING CHANGE: POWERING PROGRESS ACROSS PUBLIC SERVICE

Building on the success of the 2023 and 2024 Business Post Public Sector Women in Leadership Conferences, the 2025 event will again bring together Ireland’s most dynamic public sector women, and their allies for a day of high-impact learning, leadership insight, and career empowerment.

As Ireland continues to navigate transformation across housing, health, climate, digitalisation, and public trust, this year’s summit explores how female leadership is not just desirable, but essential in delivering better public outcomes for all.

The conference will showcase leading women at the forefront of public service across government departments and agencies, local authorities, semi-state organisations, and government administrations. In parallel, we will spotlight exceptional female leaders from the private sector whose innovation, partnership, and leadership are helping shape the future of public service delivery.

From climate policy and sustainability strategy to green innovation, digital transformation, and health system reform, the agenda will explore how cross-sector collaboration is driving real impact. The conference will highlight how women across both sectors are breaking barriers, building inclusive services, and delivering progressive solutions to national challenges - reinforcing the value of public-private cooperation and opening opportunities for knowledge-sharing, innovation, and investment.

Expert speakers will discuss a range of hot topics including the role of schools and colleges in equipping girls and women to take on leadership roles; leading a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) awareness in government organisations; addressing gender bias to achieve ethical artificial intelligence; driving excellence in public service with innovation and digital transformation, and leveraging technology for enhanced public sector efficiency.

The Summit will give aspiring female leaders the opportunity to learn from the inspirational women already in leadership positions, learn from their ambitious, yet challenging journey to the top and understand how to tackle the challenges that exist today.

So if you are an aspiring female leader within the public sector, including all departments and agencies, local authorities, semi-state organisations and government administrations, then join us on 25 November to hear how you can accelerate your leadership in the public service.
